Project 2, it was a group project of 20 members, which was randomly selected. In groups, we were told to design and build a 1:1 structure for a specific action, which my group was appointed with the theme 'CELEBRATE'. The structure was placed in a genuine dormant green space. We worked with bamboo and must understand its nature and properties as well as demonstrate basic construction knowledge. Moreover, we explored and learned new things regarding the construction details such as joints, and joinery with the use of rope as we were building the structure. I was lucky to be taught how to tie the bamboo joints with rope and the different types of tying joinery. Our group developed the design through a series of workshops, tests, and investigations involving scaled study models, exploring architectural elements and principles, which was learned from Project 1. This project was my first time learning and exploring anthropometry and ergonomics into our 1:1 structure, as I was part of the drawing team.
